Until one night, a terrified Fwlling girl walked into his tavern begging for help as Shadows tore through her forest. The hunters laughed, tossed her out, and let her run back alone into the chaos.

 

Edran tried to ignore her like everyone else, but her crying dragged him back to the night he stood alone between the flames. The night his village burned and his sister vanished into the fire. His mother ended her life soon after. His father lost his mind. And whatever hope he had turned to ash with them.

That memory split through the numbness and forced him to stand and follow one last time. Without realizing it, that single step dragged him into a longer path alongside new faces still convinced there is something worth saving in Skyland, despite the burdens none of them can outrun.
